Wind Wings

If anyone here is running wind wings can you tell me how well they work. My girlfriend is complaining about the excessive wind and I think I need to make an effort to correct the problem. Last year when she complained it was hard to get in and out of the bucket (no doors) I told her if she lost 20 lbs and took a pilates class she wouldn't have any trouble, well instead of killing me she lost 25 lbs and is still taking pilates so now it's my turn to do something for her.

I have long hair and here is my solution to the wind. Works better than a wind wing and she would no doubt look better than me in a leather helment

I saw that when you originally posted it and thought it was cool but I don't think I'd have a snowball's chance in hell of getting her to wear one LOL.

Put them on mine and it helped some, unless you enclose it and put real side windows on long hair is going to blow around. Just ask my 10 year old grand daughter but she does not care just wants ride in the T

I suggest you change your diet in order to reduce your excessive wind. :hyper: :hyper:

Naa, just kidding

I added wind wing it cut down the excessive wind to where it is easy to talk but I do have a 20 inch windshield. It blocks the side wind on your ears is what it seem to help and definitely keeping them on.
I adjusted them up as high as possible.

Thanks for the reply Putz, I too have a 20" windshield and am just looking to cut back on some of the side wind so she quits complaining about her hair.

I don't necessarily need to hear what she's saying.

Just have her put a little Downy Fabric Softener in it, that will keep it from tangling to much.

I bought some wind wings from Herman's Fast Glass in 2014. They were easy to install because they clamp on the round windshield frame without the need to drill mounting holes. The kit I purchased for $174 included four brackets and 2 plastic wind wings. The wings had to be drilled for the brackets. I am still using them and they did reduce side buffeting. I don't know if these pictures are usable - I tried to reduce them to fit.

G'Day All,
I've used acrylic wind wings in the past on the Clubman Sports Cars I built. (Lotus 7 clones) A lot of the buffeting air comes from below the windscreen (up over the edge of the bodywork) and I found they worked better if the wing was extended downwards and bent back to match angle on the top half. I ran them @ 45 deg to the windscreen.
Regards,
