Hey, Everyone!
Question, Do any members know where someone could get plans for a closed wooden Model T

Hey, Butch27
I would have to build a steel and wood frame before I could glass over it! Anybody have some c-cab plans? KJ

hot rod--There is a site where the build EARLY,EARLY replicas of old 1903 Olds bodies and a lot more. I saw a truck like that on there. You could just scale-up their plans. I'll try to find it.

Here is a link to a maker of the wood bodies....

Here is a link to someone who sells them on ebay

There is also a guy on ebay who occasionally puts up plans like you are looking for, but he is off and on with that. I just checked and could not find any now.

I had toyed with the idea of doing something similar a while back...and with building a Jeep based woody years ago. Sturdiness would be an issue, but not insurmountable. The old wood express/hack bodies were meant for a vehicle with a lot less speed and cornering forces. The way I was planning on addressing the issue was with a simple inner skeleton of 1.75x.120 steel tube.

Thanks, RPM!
I found this one and it's cool with the Woodie look I like it!
Now to find some paper plans to go by and I can build it to suite
myself! Thank...

Hey, Zandoz!
I have checked with EC Farms and they don't sell the plans and that's i'm looking for as I want to build
it myself! Thanks, anyway...

Thanks, 409!
I don't know how to PM on this site but you can email me the information! I'm hoping he can send me some photos of his T at different angles and maybe some mesurements!

It's easy to pm, just click on the members picture and look at the box that comes up it will say start a conversation, click on that and write something and post it, The massage will go to the member selected.

I know that car! friend of mine rode in that car on the dragon in east tn. small world. I like the wood body.

This is probably a stupid question but, could you fiberglass over the wood? I know very little about wood and even less about fiberglass.

That is exactly how most guys do the floor in their buckets.

Jim

How about building it out of metal.....like 1"X 3" rectangular thin wall tubing and such for the framing instead of wood. Then use thin sheetmetal plug welded to the framework. Maybe use wood for the curved roof structure.
