Mallory dizzy conversion

Hi,
I have a Mallory dual point distributor 2548201 on my blown SBC. I would like to convert to electronic
but the base plate on this dist mounts with 2 vertical screws not 2 horizontal screws that go into the sides.
Pertronixs does not have a kit for that type of base plate.
Anyone have any recommendations for an alternative ? Would like to keep the Mallory for nostalgic look.
Instead of going to HEI

Do you have a picture of what you are talking about. Could not find that part number. Maybe make a new base that has the clamp style hold down?

I "think" mallory made a uni-lite conversion for those , since mallory is gone they might be hard to come by, maybe e-pay ??

The base plate I reference is the plate the points screw into ,not the distributor base which has the hold down clamp,

What series is it, not just the part#

Just what the Dr. ordered Henry T.

Buy the conversion kit that will fit inside the Distributor and mount it by adding 2 tangs/spot welded under the bottom of plate in correlation to the old plate.and/or modify the plate/grind to fit inside the body. There shouldn't be anything in the way for the tangs. It can be done!!
Pertronixs modules mount in the same way as points do on top of the plate. Don't see why it wouldn't work.

You could not use a standard HEI distributor with the blower manifold and intake system. I don't there is enough room.

I believe the first two numbers refer to the series number so this would be a series 25 ?
The number 2548201 is the only number I can find on the dist along with the points gap and dwell numbers

I checked with Pertronixs and while they advertise a ignitor system for a series 25 it must have the horizontal attached base plate not the vertical attached plate.

I did find another conversion called Hot Spark but not enough info on the company or reviews to see if they are any good.

Take a few pics and send them to Pertronixs to see what they say.

Is the new kit a Hall effect? They are pretty rock solid and simple, imho. If it wasn't overly pricey and didn't require destruction of your prized nostalgic distributor, I'd likely take a chance, fwiw. I looked at the hot spark site, it is a Hall effect sensor and they are rated for marine applications. I wouldn't have any reservations trying one. It's nice that they mount in place of the points too.
