My Grandma was born in 1898 and told me how bad it was and what people had to do to survive. We all make do with what we have and you can't take knowledge away from someone once it is learned. Unless you have CRS like me.

A Bennett cart was a whole car that the engine and trans was removed to make it lighter for the horses to pull. All this happened during the Depression and Canada mainly had the Bennett carts.

i feel fortunate that i was raised by someone who lived through the great depression. besides being a better class of people i had instilled in me an appreciation for simple pleasures in life and how to make use out of what others would today just throw away.

i think if you visit certain countries you'll see those bennett carts today. i've seen photos but didn't know they had a name.

I will personally/guaranty you anything/size brakes on the front will stop the car if you follow the brake bleeding /installation procedures no matter the make or looks as I think that is what you are after. And there is after market backing plates out there that will hide what you use on one side and the wheel on the other even with spoke wheels you can get the chrome dust shields to cover things up..

I'd personally worry more about safety than looks. You can go 200 mph but you got to stop before you die.

You can't get American History in schools today until you get to college level classes that you have to elect to take. The govmnt is trying to erase it.

Unfortunately those brakes would cost way more then that Hoover cart. And yes, they do stop but I can't even afford them!

'66 chevy van front axle, rear axle and entire braking system. Nice thing is you can get parts pretty much anywhere.
