Does your pedal assembly and master stick through the floor?

My pedal assembly and master will stick through the floor if I match it to the bottom of the frame. Should I let it hang below the frame? It has to sit outside the frame. Not a lot of room there. You can see how much higher the master is than the bracket.

It mounts on the inside of frame and the pedal on the. right side of the coloum.

Unless you are w/o right leg or it's a rhd car.

The top of the m/c should be just below the floor and a swivel plate to cover it.

It's still going to be too tall to mount like that. I also have concerns about room between the gas and brake if I mount it there.

That looks very low. It is not below the scrub line is it? I would try to have the pivot as close to floor level as possible to limit air hole in floor.

Can you flip the whole thing upside down and mount it to the firewall with the firewall sandwiched between the pedal mount and the master cylinder?

Buy a GM m/c from Speedway or RPM .
I don't know what kind your's is, but I wouldn't use it.

Do watch the scrubline ( look in frames and brakes section). The steering box is close to it. Larger rims in front can solve that, but may make you to make other changes.

This is from RPM

I don't want it on the firewall.. I bought the under floor mount. I'm gonna see if he has any pics of how he mounts them

I would be more concerned with the steering box hanging so low. The master cylinder could be mounted just below the floor with an access hole to service it.

That's the way it came from RPM. I bought their frame prewelded.

Wow. From the picture it looks like it’s pretty near the ground already with full tires. Somewhere on this site they recommend having enough clearance to roll a softball under the car. Maybe the picture is deceiving!

Ok got with Ron this morning. It was a shipping error and I got the one for a firewall mount. He's going to send me the right one.

I'm not of the opinion it's too low. I've seen much lower

Not talking about the car being too low, talking about anything that is lower than the bottom of the rims if you have a flat tire. That is the scrubline, meaning if you have a flat tire, nothing on the car will touch the pavement.

Look in tech section here and NTBA Forum and Speedway use to have pictures in their catalogs.

It’s not a problem unless you encounter a speed bump or a steep drive way or some other bump in the road. Or get a flat tire as T Test said. When I first put my bucket together I had to add a couple of leaves to the front leaf spring just to back out of my garage without something rubbing. Just saying.

The scrub test I used for the racecars was to make sure nothing but the wheels touched the floor - tested with the car on 4 wheels without tires. Crossmember had about 1/4", (only because we didn't want to do the work to go lower).

It’s a crapshoot if you’ll ever have a problem. If something does happen, all you need is a tow truck and a boatload of cash and you’re good to go!
