Hydrogen peroxide injection??

I'm reading a 1956 copy of Rod & Custom with an article on supercharging. It mentions injecting hydrogen peroxide for more power. Anyone ever heard of this? Tried it?

Sounds dangerous. Think I’d try Nitrous first. I’m just not wanting to go that fast!
One of the early go carts was at Green Valley Race Way near Fort Worth for a number of years. A Funny Car friend of mine made a pass in it and Said never again! No way to throttle or shut the engine off. Fuel burn ran out before the finish lights.
From the green Valley FB site:
Hydrogen Peroxide car....Clayton Pool went fast in it, don't remember the mph..maybe 260. Was told it was heavy.

Joe R Patterson story I heard was it went 300(?)and whoever it was driving it got stopped at the top of the hill jumped out and said never again!

No Pain, No Gain!

Speculating the oxygen added would enhance combustion?
Hmmm..like water I imagine it would allow for more timing. And the extra O2 could, in conjunction with more fuel, make more power. I'm gonna ask the guys at Snow.
