Restoring A T bucket that sat 10 + years

Mine came right from China and after checking it tonight, it seems it arrived full of some kind of Chinese grease. Probably left over from the Korean war or something.
 
All i care is that i get this car done by the end of summer once the heat is gone we have 8 months of dry air and dam nice T weather . i went to the car show last night most times over 100 cars only 25 this time just too hot . when it saying feels like 108 that's too hot for me
 
I have been fooling with the new and the old steering box on the bench tried putting my torque wrench on the input shaft to see what the inch lbs. while turning would be while turning. Off the car box turns freely . So I started taking measurements on both boxes and found the old is slightly lower then the new one so I added washers to each bolt hole. And as I was installing the bolts I would keep checking the steering and it was turning very easy
So the problem was the two boxes turned out to be just a little different in height causing it to bind up when turning. Test ride tomorrow morning
 
I went out for a 20 mile ride this morning was 70 wow unheard of in Floridaa this time of year said going to be cooler today only 93 . my car is almost perfect thanks to all the T buddies on here
 
I got stuck at the gas pump yesterday had a bad battery connection , tried pulling cable to cut off and attached but no extra ., ordered 11' of cable
I love the way she is driving now , stops perfect also now just wait for cooler days
 
I am not sure but I can't seem to get the smile off my face , I had several give me the thumbs up going into town yesterday, or maybe they gave me the finger not sure lol
I normally only work on aircraft so this has been different for me
 
Now you're hooked! That's the magic of these little cars; they're a hoot to drive, and people love 'em, especially kids!

I want to buy something different to tie down the rear fuel tank cover and suggestions ?
 
I found some quick disconnects on ebay , 100 MM Long should be good
heat index today 110 , my garage has AC but i don't have anything to do on my T . I would like to get it to the car show on Saturday night but dam thunderstorme's have been popping up every day
