A sports car T?

So build something like the ICE machine just not a c cab. Without the dorky radiator though. lol. And put a V8 in it for heck sakes. The whole engine is behind the front axle so you should have good weight bias anyways.

Use a nice front setup like Kugel or Heidts open wheel setups and it would look sweet IMO.

That is SWEET and a work of ART! Way beyond my budget and skills! My chassis is being built by a circle track guy (worked for Tony Stewart) that is a buddy of mine. The suspension and just about everything else is junkyard and scrounging!

Here are examples of my front and rear suspension:

It would be very easy to taper your frame in at the front to match the firewall on a T, and then taper it back to the rear. It'll take a little engineering and good welding but should not be hard to pull off at all. Spirit has a big sport deck that looks similar to a turtle deck but bigger and better looking. It should be able to hide all your rear suspension parts easily. I expect those body parts would be way cheaper than your other choices. Would be cool to see a T built sporty.

Hey Folks, I like your thoughts. I have T Body and frame and a I beam front Axle that has 4 " drop. It is a vintage axle with perch pads and I'm struggling with it. A good motor head friend with MGB is repowering with a Ford/T5 combo and has purchased a new running gear front & rear. I'm looking at the front IFS front clip. The MGB Frame in front is 23 wide, my T-bucket frame is 22" wide. I toying with the obvious, use the complete suspension in front and rear with coilovers and dispense with rear leaf springs. The steering would utilize MGB from Steering column to the rack and pinion. The MGB Brake box would snuggle nicely under the bucket IP, yes? If you don't recall what a Brake box is on a MGB, google "MGB brake box". Even though I am 77 I haven't gained enough "whiskers" to post Jpegs here yet.:mad: All the stuff from the MGB is cost effective $(0)

Mock it up and see if it suits your taste. I wouldn’t cut or weld anything on the bucket frame until you decided, but if you only have time invested, see what it looks like.

This is what you'll be dealing with: MGB front suspension . . .

And here is an IFS on a T-bucket . . .

It is rare to see a fender-less hot rod with independent suspension that looks good. Especially one adapted from a late model car. One guy on here had a build thread with one that looked pretty good. Factory five hot rods look pretty good. You cannot beat the look of a dropped straight axle.

You’re right Spanky. That is pure ugly. Especially on a T Bucket. I’ve seen independent front suspensions using tubular a arms. They don’t look bad at all. The factory stamped steel a arms are just not attractive at all.

In my earlier posts I made the comment I couldn't Post images........Now I can!
1) MGB Front Suspension Line drawing.
2/3) British T-Bucket look alikes using the MGB repurposed suspension.
4) MGB Brake box. The brake box hangs under the Instrument panel and hangs the Brake, clutch and Accelerator pedals out the bottom. The Master cylinder for the brake and clutch both reside in that small 10'x10'x10'box, yes!

The British Tbucket look alike is a kit car could a NG . A guy named Nick Green I think owned the company. They made several sports cars all made of MGB parts .

Yes they do look a bit like a T-bucket on steroids. They were a good kit and still see them for sale on eBay from time to time

that shark teeth 26 with ifs is dennis bynum's and al carpenter was another that liked the mII frontend. my roadster also has the mII ifs but i'm going over to a model a frame and straight axle.
