My ProjecTee

Now i need to purchase a complete set of NEW pushrods & a pair of head gaskets. I believe since Leroy & the 2 rebuilders are related, he probably tutored them during their rebuild. This is a very common situation for Leroy.
Don’t forget to put the break in lube on your shopping list! Glad it’s better than we feared it could be.

Break in lube was mentioned by Leroy along with preassembly lube. I failed to mention the break in lube in my earlier post. Oops ! I'm waiting to see if i get my social security check , scheduled for next tuesday. You know what i'm talking about if you've been following the news ( debt ceiling). I stay open and receptive for anyone's advice or suggestions.

Man, that's creepy, the hair on the back of my neck is doing weird things right now ! Is this really
what you intended, to keep your fellow gearheads up at night ???

I was helping ORF add some LED lights to his shop yesterday and when I pulled the cover off his
ancient T12 lights a spider dropped onto my arm. First thing is DON'T SCREEM LIKE A LITTLE
10 YEAR OLD GIRL and don't launch from the ladder, or your man card will be revoked. It took
everything I could muster from the depths of my wee little girl school voice ...... "get off me!!!!!!!!"

Then I watched this video and it's a wonder after I all my trying to get my lowest singing voice in
hand, I didn't have several jumping spiders wanting to mate with me. Watch the video !

I put that spider in that light to hear your little girl voice! I was disappointed. Lol. My shop is so much better to work in now that I don’t bump into stuff or lose tools! Thank you again for the help!

I bet the welfare checks or ebt cards roll out just fine. Not sure about those benefits for working Americans. Fingers crossed.

I totally agree fletcherson. I paid into that system for 38 years ( san joaquin county worker ). Those black glass eyes came from a seller on Etsy ( sheepish knight ). I'm very pleased with them.

I have the Big Boy body purchased from Ron Pope ( the fiberglass insert should fit with NO problem ). The Big Boy body is 6" wider than the standard t bucket body. Thanks for the likes rbsWELDER & choppedtop.

Don't forget that a Spirit body is made with a permanently bonded-in female insert that the upholstery insert then fits into.

The bonded-in insert is what gives the body so much strength and rigidity without adding much weight.

It's only the upholstery form that fits into that bonded-in body insert that can be put in and pulled out.

If you're looking at just the upholstery form to use a a seat, it isn't strong enough by itself, it needs the body insert bonded to the body shell to give it the needed support.

I have a Spirit '27, which is made the same way.

Since you have a wide body, if you really want to try the Spirit insert, you could ask Josh about the '27 insert which may be wider than the '23 insert.

Here's some old videos from Spirit that really show the bonded-in body insert and the upholstery insert and how they all work together, they may be helpful as you make your plans:

You may need to add at least part of the body insert, rear half or so, into the body to be able to use the upholstery insert . . . Just call Spirit and ask Josh.

Thanks Darlene for your concern. I am already aware of the body insert & the seat insert. I watched your 3rd video ; it was very helpful. I already viewed the first 2 videos ( yesterday )SP2302.jpg . The 3rd video showed the seat insert being placed over the body insert ( i gained more knowledge with this video ). I now see that i must also purchase the body insert. Thanks for educating me ; i would've been very frustrated when i received the seat insert & realized i still needed the body insert. You're a lifesaver.

I have both heads back on my 327 c.i.d sbc engine. I also re-installed the valve lifters. Both heads are torqued to 65 ft. lbs. Can't do anything more to my engine until i get paid in November ( retirement check ). Funds are getting low.

I received a $407.00 refund from Freedom Debt Relief so........I purchased 2 gallons of polyester resin. I glassed behind the grille opening on my track t nose ( trying to install the cast aluminum grille ). I'm creating a raised lip inside the track t nose ( a border around the fiberglass grille opening ). A thicker mounting surface for my cast aluminum grille. This will strengthen the fiberglass grille opening & give me a stronger grille mounting area. The weather is very nasty today 10-24-21 ( onslaught of ATMOSPHERIC RIVER ). So far , it's not too bad. It's supposed to end Monday evening 10-25-21. It appears our coastal area is catching the brunt of the storm. However ; Sacramento ( many miles inland from our coast ) is a different story. I glassed the track t nose yesterday 1-23-21 ( weather was better then ).

Neshkoro ; I sent a PM to answer your question. Meanwhile , ( back on topic ) I'm still staying dry while waiting for this , " historic storm " to pass. I am very bored ( yawn ) zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I purchased the fiberglass body insert from spirit cars about 2 weeks ago. My project was relocated to Leroy's empty body shop last week. Lots of room now & out of the weather. Today's date is : 11-06-21. I paid $409.00 for the insert.SP2302.jpg Spirit Cars emailed me & asked for an additional $ 189.50 ( $110.00 pre-paid shipping fee + $189.50 added on , equals $299.50 for shipping ).

The original cost of the insert was $ 409.50 which included shipping. With the added shipping of $ 189.50 my total cost will be $ 599.00. I agreed to pay the additional cost , just waiting for a response to my last email. So , shipping from Arkansas to California is : $ 299.50.
