    My EV rant . . .

I believe CO2 is a symptom, not a disease. Our activities are releasing CO2, yes, but that's not the problem. The Earth has a mechanism for handling CO2 if we allow it...green growing stuff. The real problem is the exponential growth of energy consumption. Every activity we perform generates...

    My EV rant . . .

EV's have a lot of problems that all the advocates are basically just looking away from, assuming we will figure it out as we go. We are transitioning "on faith". As far as utility capacity goes: I build power plants for a living, I've seen nothing in the last seven years to make me believe we...

    Phone mounts

I would think a magnetic mount might be a good choice in a T. My wife uses this brand in her car and the magnets are actually really secure. Just stick the steel plate to your phone case and attach the magnet to the dash where you want it. if you just stick the magnet itself to the dash without...

    Mid engine planning

-I wouldn't bother with an off-the shelf frame. You will have to modify so much to work it won't resemble what you bought at all by the time you're done. -Speaking of big tires, FWD transmissions and diff's aren't meant to drive big tires. You will have to be gentle if you go that route. If...

    Mid engine planning

Many FWD communities have similar thoughts..."I'll just drop the whole subframe out and bolt it into X" Thats all great in theory, but you run into unique problems. Disclaimer...the engine in my Avatar is a FWD engine so I'm not trying to talk you out of anything, just accept going in that it's...

    Cheap T Project

I've had trouble on this site with Firefox. So much so that I stopped even trying to use it here. I use MS Edge now and it works fine.

    Fast read . . .

I grew up 6 miles from Bandimere Speedway in Colorado. Bandimere is surrounded by massive rocks that bounce the noise out directly into town. On the drag nights the noise would echo across the front range like an angry combination of thunder and gunfire. It was something.

Fuel Tanks Aluminum, Steel, ABS Plastic

Nothing wrong with ABS if its not visible. Its probably the safest common material in use right now. That's what the car manufacturers are using. Steel rusts. It can be used but ABS is better for the price. Aluminum is fine but more expensive, and not as tough in a wreck. Poor quality welds...

    Seatbelts or not?

I'm probably one of the younger people that comes here so I'll be the adult child lecturing the seniors...;) YES. Seat belts save lives. People who don't believe that in 2022 might as well be flat-earthers. Are there 1/1000 cases where the seatbelt did more harm than good? Sure. Are those the...

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

It might be worth an email or a call to the Heim manufacturer to confirm the lateral loading limit. There are plenty of other ways to skin the cat if they indicate that there's any risk of the joint breaking in that orientation.

    White T II

Back in the 70's, my dad stapled a carpet remnant to some plywood and called it a day. A slightly better option might be finding a nice set of junkyard seats that will fit. Lots of smaller cars have little to no wear and tear on the rear seats, and you might be able to find a really nice fit.

    Web site closing. . .

Recommendation: Offer it to Verticalsope. They do a very adequate job of running automotive forums and I know this one gets more traffic than some of the others they keep around. Some of the forums I use can goes days without a new post. The advertisements that keep the lights on are very...

    Fiber Glassing Tips

I had a real learning experience last week. I've done some fiberglass work in the last few years in Ohio and in Connecticut, both in warm weather. Last week, I was visiting my parents in Arizona and helped my dad with some repairs to his C-cab body. The difference in work time for resin was...

    New in the NE

I appreciate that. There's always people in every group who are pretty certain that there's only one or two "Right ways to do it" on any given topic.

    New in the NE

Dad says that one got parted out and scrapped. He held onto the wheels and the flathead for decades but finally got rid of them while downsizing to a townhouse. His previous car had been on the cover of one of the hot rod magazines, and that one got sold so it might still be out there somewhere...

    New in the NE

I checked with my Dad, I guess it was his car. I remember those wheels laying around the garage, and I remember the carpeting that's serving as rear seat upholstery as being our basement carpet, but I have no memory of the car assembled. It had a flat head.

    New in the NE

One of my childhood neighbors posted this photo on facebook. This was around 78 or 79, Me with my sister and two neighbor girls. I don't know who's T this was, or have any memory of it, but I was clearly having a good time.

    Inbred dog . . .

I once knew a guy from some tiny island off the coast of Maine who proudly admitted to marrying his cousin. He says on the island, they consider it Purebreeding, not inbreeding. :roflmao::roflmao:

How to dispose of your bucket?

The thing we've all managed to forget to mention is the first conversation should be with your wife. Most of us would never ask our loved ones to liquidate the things they care about before they die for our convenience, we will just worry about it when the time comes. Having a will (especially...
