    Wood Floor Test Panels

I got my test panels done and will submerge them in water once a day and post daily pictures for a week. I'm not sure that will show us a lot but will leave the panels out side and abuse them there over an extended period and we will see what happens.

    Starting a "C" Cab project

Fletcherson it's my bad. Josh asked me what size wood we use and I said 5/8 without thinking I was busy when he asked and was not aware of this Huge controversy at the time. We have always used the same product in the C cab 7/16 and have had no issues. We put down the wood as a base then glass...

    Wood Floor Test Panels

Thanks for all the reply's. This should be a good thread for a lot of people. Myself included. I think I'l try to find a way to include impact and flexural strength testing also. I'm not sure what flexural means but I'll bend it till it breaks.

    Wood Floor Test Panels

We have decided to do some test panels for wood floors. I have taken 3 different types of wood and coated half the panel with resin and glass on top and a rubberized undercoat on the bottom and the other half I left plain. Starting 12/22 I will submerge the wood in water once a day and track...

    Starting a "C" Cab project

It looks like this is a good opportunity to have a discussion on floor types. The advantages and disadvantages. Much of what will be said will be opinion so take it for what it's worth. stretch or not to stretch?

My 2 cents worth. As we thought out the idea of our XLT I first wanted it to be in proportion. It did take a little more work adding some to the cowl some to the door and some to the back but if you look at our body from the side you can not tell if it is a reg or an XLT by the look. Now as for...

The Gap Between The Bed and Body ..................

Gel is a polyester and so is the resin that bonds the fiberglass together there is no need to sand all the gel off.

    Spirit Stretch body

I would still glass the floor in. Just wet some mat and lay it up a few inches on the body and let it overlap a few inches on the wood. Then brush the wood with resin to seal it.
