After a half dozen e-mails about not being able to leave pictures with my posts, your very capable WEB-Whatever decided my input was not needed here. Good Luck with that attitude..SEE YA ALL:rolleyes:

    Pedal Ratio Chart

Thanks to the chart I was finally able to get the power brakes that I needed on my Bucket. The original brake pedal supplied by the manufacturer was at a ratio of 2.8. After moving the linkage closer to the pivot by 1-1/2", the ratio came up to 4.8. Much better braking power now, with much more...

wow had to come home and clean my britches awhile ago.

Did a lot on mine to get a steady front end. 5deg caster, 1/8" toe out, and hyd. shocks were my answer. Didn't think caster would be so important. I just lowered the back suspension 2", and just that changed my caster enough to get the wheels bouncing again. Moved it forward to 5deg and all is...

    T weight

My Spirit is 2080lbs. That's 900 fr./ 1180 rear, with fuel, no driver. I build mine with 3/4" ply in floor, fish the kick-up, and a 1/4" steel pu box floor. Didn't care if it was heavy, wanted it to ride better.

    Spirit VS TP frame

I have the Spirit frame, and it's very well made. I did only two fill jobs on all the frames welds to get it ready for paint.;)

    Friction shocks????????

Perhaps the shocks I used are too big, I got them on sale. The car I copied had small shocks. There are very more shocks to look at, to tune the front. The back of the mounted shock can be moved forward, as I bolted it to the under surface of the frame, so as not to ruin any paint. If I see some...

    One or Three Wire Alternator?

I knew that I wanted to use the three wire hookup to my alternator. For a good discussion of this see:http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/onewire-threewire.shtml. The voltage on my car has held right @ 14 volts constantly, with, or without a load. I have only had one issue that was...

    Friction shocks????????

I checked on the car, and it had regular hyd. shocks. It's installed, and o'boy does it work. I put nylon fender washers between the bellcranks, and the frame, plus another washer on the outside next to the nut.The bellcranks swivel very easy on the bronze bushings, and the shock end bushings...

    Interesting front suspension

There is a bucket here in Phoenix with that setup if anyone wants to see it in person. It is very clean looking, and the owner says it works very well. I wonder about the angle of the drag link though?:surprised:

    Friction shocks????????

Here is an actual working installation, I intended to post weeks ago. After a few changes, I will fit this to my car, as it's the cleanest, original looking setup I've seen. Just like the last drawing here. ;)

    New guy from Oakland,Ca.

Many Welcomes, Grew up just down the road from you, in the lettuce capitol of the world. Like the sun better in AZ. Wonder if I could build a "Tower of Power-T-Bucket", and what it would look like??:D

    Front disc brakes

I do have a panhard bar on the front end, along with a so-cal steering stabilizer on the tie rod. Maybe I wasn't clear enough about the side to side walking. The wheels which are at the ends of a center pivot bounce up and down alternately to each other @ 58-62mph.:o

    Powder Coating Questions

I powder coated some hard to get a places on my motorcycle. Very happy with it. But on the bucket I wanted the ability to patch it easily. With Acrylic Eurethane one Stage paint, which is very chip resistant. I only have to mix up a small amount of paint, and touch up a chip once or twice, to...

    Holy Crap!

When I first get to an event with alot of cars, I smile because everybody else is smiling. I usually don't stop to think "why" this is. Then I get to remember that these are special cars, special dreams, and a great, pure sense of happiness. Fred, so happy for you, nothing like the basic rush...

    Spirit vs. Total Performance

I went with Spirit mainly because the FG work was so thick, and strong in the right places. For a turnkey type car, TP is the answer. But like myself, a lot of people like to make improvements to most everything they do. I wanted to massage most of my Spirit kit, and make it my own. I think the...
