    3D flames, a first on a T bucket.

Those flames are cooler than heck. But I'm not too sure about your radius rod front mount. Gonna be alot of torque and stress on that bent piece of tubing and frame weld.

    Texas registeration

Back when I built mine in 92 or so, I bought a 1915 New York vehicle registration from from a place in Maryland. Was not a problem at all back then. But nowadays I believe the Texas Tax Assessor Office is alot more strict after what all happened in CA. All I can say is Good Luck and let us...

    runnin a lil hot

210-215 is not hot if you have anything higher than a 7lb radiator cap. I run a restrictor and have for 15 years. But here in Houston I ain't worried about it being too cold. Criusing in the evenings I run 185-195. Hottest in the afternoons it gets up to 210, but usually around 205. PLEASE...

    Need Headlight Help

you could delete the dimmer switch if you wanted to. Just wire to low beams to the "INST/PARK" terminal of your switch and the high beams to the "HEAD" terminal of your switch. Then when you pull the switch out one notch you have low beams and when you pull it all out you have high beams.

    torque converters

the 1600-2200 converter will work with what you have in the bucket. But once you start to drive it and come to a light, you might not be too happy with it. You will prolly get a leg cramp from holding the brake pedal down so hard or else slip it into neutral while sitting still. You will be...

    Engine Angle

I got 34x18 tires on mine and a heck of a rack but it works. Just put a level on the carb base on the intake manifold. With the base level the trans should be about 3 degrees down and the rear pinion should be 3 degrees up. This is a shot of my chassis back when I first built it...

    gear size

4.30 gears and 34" tall tires. I like it. Wouldn't have anything higher than 4.10 (lower number).

    T Boy Update

Who made that body? I like it!!!!!!! He did. There are pics somewhere on here of when he first started with a square tube framework then added the sheetmetal. Great workmanship.

    Shipping from Kodak, TN (RPM)

you should get plenty of replies from Uship. I got over 20 replies back when I wanted to get a jet boat from CA to Houston Tx. And again when I had a 460 short block shipped from CA to Houston.

Changing dimension due to tubing size

I built my frame using the CCR plans but I narrowed the front crossmember 1" to allow for the 1915 body firewall. That was a BIG mistake. You will find very few alternators that will fit a narrowed frame if you mount the alt low. Go with the stock width frame and if you have a 15 body just...

    Removing roll on bed liner

I guess you wanna get to the fiberglass to modify the body? I would use some 36 or 40 grit sanding pads to start. Go nice and easy. The radial fan shaped sanding pads are great in 40, 80 and 120 grit. I use them all the time when I mig weld.

    Exhaust System

I currnetly have short 4" turnouts that I mounted on my Hooker big tube headers with a 4" collector. My previous 3 sets of small tube 3 1/2" collector headers had the 20" or 26" turnouts. I modified a set of Speedway augers to fit the 4" collector/turnouts. But right now they are currnetly...

    Exhaust System

P.S. If you are using a "conventional" '23-'25 style body you will experience 11 1/2" between the turn out and 31" rear tire which leaves plenty of room. I would make sure and measure first before purchase. Got sevral friends with 23 regular bodies and short pickup bow with 31" M/T's or...

    Whole House Generator

I bought a 9000 watt generator from Pep Boys on Black Friday about 4 years ago for $495. Got a generator breaker box on the house and rigged up a cord and plugs to go from the generator to the box. It is mainly for if we have a hurricane and won't be for the whole house (as in running the AC)...

    Exhaust System

the Classic style headers (all four pipes go straight down then bend back) use the 20" turnouts because the rear pipe is further back. The Sprint style headers use 26" turnouts because the rear pipe bends forward then bend back. I have had both styles and both turnouts. Use a 26" turnout on...

    got a new problem

Those 305 heads were very prone to cracking. Had an 83 Z28 with a HO 305. What a piece of crap that was. Ended up building a strong 350 and put in it. If you ended up replacing it with the same type head chances are this one will crack also. I'd go with some big valve straight or angle plug...

Texas Rules! Governor Rick Perry Signs Street Rod and Custom Title and Registration Legislation!

hopefully it will make things easier when I go to title the 29 sedan when I get done with it. The bucket I used a 1915 Ford Roadster registration from New York bavk in 94 or so when I titled it. Think the Texas DMV is alittle more strict now on doing that. But I do have another New York 1931...

    SBC cooling

200 is not hot enough to worry about. With a 7 lb cap you should not reach boiling point until 215 to 218 or so. On the hottest day here in Houston I only see 210 and at night it drops back down to 185. No worry. My old shorty brass radiator would see between 225 and 240. Then I would worry.

    B&M Brackets

If you had it in a Camaro then you should already have the brackets. The only thing you need is the bracket that bolts to the trans pan that holds the end of the cable. The other end of the cable hooks to the shifter base and the shifter base screws or bolts to the floor and a plastic cover...
