    New guy with first bucket

The first T bucket I ever rode in was a red '23 with a turtledeck and a nailhead engine. And a steering wheel cut like a bomber yoke. And it was offered to me for $575. This was in 1971, between my freshman and sophomore years in college, and it might as well have been $575,000.

    Any of You Texas Boys...

That's the chance Goodguys took when they chose the date. I could tell them that about 1 out of 3 times that date will be too cold or wet to be comfortable.

    I'm all choked up.

I used to have to change the u-joints in the Tub T every couple of years (bad angle). The last time I did it, I laid the u-joint on the corner and said, "I need a new one like this." The counter guy looked at and said, "What is it?" Front-wheel-drive guy!

    Any of You Texas Boys...

And, of course, you rode in in a 50-footer! We were out there Saturday, too, but got rained out at about 1 p.m. It was too cold to go out even for a chance at the '32 giveaway car.

    Cruisin' the Coast

The first real hot rod I ever rode in was like this, but very rudimentary. I sat on a milk crate in the back. It was owned by a boyfriend of my cousin, who was babysitting us. This would have been about 1960. I hope to make Cruising the Coast one of these years, but it hits just as our...

    2014 Nats?

I plan on being at both the Branson and Mountain Home portions, with the new '26 Tudor. Maybe it will even have air by that time!

    Lost my best friend today

As someone else said, a lost pet leaves a hole in your heart just the shape and size of that pet. Not other pet can perfectly fill the hole, but they can make it smaller and less painful.

    Is he watching you

Five seconds before and after a crash or air bag deployment is how much they can get from your black box, according to the lawyers who have been using this information for a number of years.

    brake light switch ??

The pressure switch introduces 3 new places for your brake system to leak. They're a pain to change when they fail (and they will). And, at 60 mph, you're traveling at 88 feet per second. If your brake light comes on a half second faster, you've given the guy behind you 44 more feet of...

    Interesting 27 on fleabay...

It looks like he was going for a sort of "old sports car" theme. If it were mine, I would lose the hard top and make some sort of a soft-looking top.

Finally sold business after 31 years and retired. YA!!

All I know is that if you start your own business, you only have to work half the time....and you can choose your own 12 hours.

Off topic, but not too far - the sequel

Shade in the summer, heat in the winter, and moving pictures all year 'round! (The punch line from a very old joke.)

advice on sprint car style headers

I support my mufflers/extensions, just because they looked like they moved too much to make me comfortable. The common areas for sprint header cracking is at the curve where they pipes collect, and at the flange on the rear pipe.

Need Information on this '23 T Bucket

What would you like to know about it? Pretty typical late 60's T bucket. Can't tell if it's really that old, or if it's a antique.

Now this is a different look for a T bucket !

What did the 2TC come in? How about a Starlet?

The '27 Needed a Garage Mate....

We had one of those my senior year in high school. It might be a gem for someone today; then, it was a clunker with no 3rd gear in the transmission and a right-hand window that wouldn't roll up.

Why do you think guys get hot rods and T buckets in the first place?

    Seat Belts

I got stopped by an accident out by MM538 on I20 in Texas a while back. A car had run into the median, hit the concrete barrier, and rolled several times. When I got there (about 10 minutes after it happened), it was fully involved in a fire. But that didn't make any difference to any one of...
