    Steering column cover

Sawzall or Blue Tip Wrench time..... Sorta kidding. For safety reasons, you do not want a one piece shaft from the box to your chest as it becomes a harpoon in the case of an accident. Remember you can't possibly accelerate as quickly as you can stop - like, if you were to rear end a parked...

    Garage cleaning

I just went out to shoot a couple of pix of my garage and came right back in. Tomorrow it gets a spiffing up and then maybe some pictures. I've always enjoyed snooping around other people's garages when they post photos. That way I can feel good about the fact I don't toss much away.

    So.... where to go?

I had a somewhat brief encounter with the NTBA a couple of years ago and thought they were pretty much a bunch of ............. oh, forget it, they're not worthy of further consideration. Well maybe a little. I don't recall there were any outstanding cars in terms of imagination...

Track-T, Thanks that was great. Formation isn't as much fun as yankin' n crankin'. Oh, be be young again.

    Bucket no reseve on Ebay

I'm going to us flight steps from a turbine helicopter. The step is cast aluminum and the tube is stainless. I have a couple of pairs of these on hand per the pix. They're not from the same aircraft and I don't have history of documantation otherwise they'd be worth considerably more. I don't...

    Tool storage idea

I don't see a hammer so it must be powered by a Chevy and no Holley carb because no fire extinguisher.

Snow sucks this time of the year

Ruggs, you're right. We joke about being in the banana belt here near Bailey, Colorado while ten miles NE of here closer to Denver they get nailed. We'll have sunny skies while they're getting four inches of hail or six inches of snow. As far as halloween goes, yes the weather is a deterrent...

    Some brief changes

Add me to the gang that is not surprised to hear this news. It seems like I've not been surprised much, more commonly it's disappointment as is the case here. I've never been much of a joiner. This group has kept my interest for well over a year which might be some kind of a record. I like...

    I know this sounds crazy

I just stumbled into this thread and have to laugh because I've been telling the "drifting" guys they don't need horse power, they just need to spray water on their tires with controls for front and/or rear, left and/or right and criss-cross. When I used a joy stick as an example for control...

    Wind Turbines

A company in Colorado is making these things and I passed a blade-toting truck on the highwy a couple of years ago. That blade was huge, but progably not as large as the one shown by Track-T. There is a wind farm east of Palm Springs where I sat on the ground for 20 minutes just watching. I...

    anybody need any relays

I got six of these relays in the mail today. Well packeaged, nice relays and great price. I suppose those who bought them without the need for specifics probably got yours a couple of weeks ago.

“Thank you for the needed clarification on pols and polls. Perception is in the mind of the perceiver. I have made up my mind, don't bother me with the facts. “ “Thank you for the needed clarification?” Logically, you’re the one who should have provided that clarification. Admittedly, I’m not...

    Exhaust support

Thanks George, great idea. That's the solution I've been looking for and would have (might have) eventually stumbled into it, but only after I'd spent a bunch of money and time on something else. I almost placed an order for a couple of those braided SS flexible connectors in order to deal with...

chitty chitty bang bang for sale

Just when I was aout to bid, I noticed "Reserve Not Met". Darn, too bad. Among my personal policies is the fact I never bid on reserve price items. I think it's for amatuers who can't seem to come to grips with the idea of simply telling the world what they want for their item. I wonder how...

    Fuel tank perch at last

A couple of thoughts... As usual Gerry, well done. The laser cutting sure does produce nicely finished edge. Your welcome and the drawings took twenty minutes at most including grabbing a big diet Pepsi and some crisps (snacks). Ron at RPM Motor Sports jumped in on this which I think shows...

"I totally agree that we must have a strong manufacturing economy, but things are not quite what the pols would have us believe. According to United Nations data, the U.S. is still the largest manufacturing country in the world. In 2009, American manufacturing output (in real terms) was nearly...
