    The dreaded "death wobble"...

Yes, you are correct. It looks like the front end is pivoting on the spring perch. I do have front shod as noted in my original replay. Thanks for the inquiry.

    The dreaded "death wobble"...

Although I've never experienced the death wobble, I have had a condition I call basketballing or wheel tramp. It was so severe at 42mph that I could actually see daylight under the front tires. I had initially run about 12 lbs. pressure in the front and rear tires in an effort to use the...

    Getting the T Bucket done

If you are a homebuilder like me, you substitute a lot of elbow grease for "store-bought parts". But as you approach the final month or two of your build, you find yourself spending some REAL money to see your dream come true. All those items that you put off until the last minute, i.e...

    Best handling front suspension

An open wheel car REALLY needs a drilled/dropped front axle. With a little research and development you can achieve a decent ride/handling package that will please both eh driver and the passenger. BTW, the first thing I did was throw away the mono leaf spring.

I'll be there with my traditional track roadster. How will I know who your are??

    Mono-Leaf question

This info may be too late to be of any help, but here goes. My 101" WB bucket weighs 1640 with fluids and has an unloaded weight distribution of 57% rear (920#) and 43% front (720#). When it is loaded with 420 # of human flesh, that distribution changes to 61% rear and 39% front. These are...

    Project Update: Moving Violation

Made it to the Road Rockets Rumble on Friday but rain kept the car under a tarp for most of the day. Next attempt will be the NSRA Nats in August. You will know the car by the number 17 in a green winged meatball on the side. See you there.

    Project Update: Moving Violation

I made the Rumble on Friday, but I had to trailer the car for lack of a license plate. Also, I did not have the car completely wired and the brakes are a little weak. The official unveiling will be at the NTBA event in September. Hope to see you all there!!

    Wilwood Balance beam master cylinders

Thanks for the info. I hope you are right regarding my M/C size. At $75 a hit and the mess of changing out cylinders. I don't want to have to change too many!!

    Wilwood Balance beam master cylinders

Thanks Mike, I talked to the Wilwood Tech guy and went with his recommendations as far as bore sizes. I'm certainly no expert when it comes to determining bore size vs. piston bore capacity and then throw in the wet road factor as well. Maybe I should go with the remote adjustment cable to...

    stretch or not to stretch?

I'm 6'-4" using a standard body purchased at a yard sale. The last thing I wanted was to look like I was setting on toad stool. Moving the engine 2" to the right and using an automatic trans gained me a couple of inches and then reducing the amount of seat padding on my back rest gained me...

    Wilwood Balance beam master cylinders

I'm using Wilwood compact master cylinders with a balance bar. The front JFZ 2-piston calipers are fed by a 7/8" master cylinder while the rears (8" Mustang rear with drum brakes) are supplied by a 1 inch bore master cylinder. I'm using a 10# residual valve in the rear and a 2# in front...

    Project Update: Moving Violation

Just ordered my radiator from Spikes today. Their radiator guy is a joy to work with. They don't get many rod builders coming by so he was VERY interested in the car it was going on. I had budgeted $550 for the rad and he came in slightly under that, and with a built-in tranny cooler to...

    Project Update: Moving Violation

Mine is similar to yours, except the top of the opening is flatter and it tapers somewhat. What a great looking grill you have for a future project!!!

    Project Update: Moving Violation

That's an option-my shell is either from a '29 Chevy Truck or a late 20's Nash. It has a slight bottom to top inward taper that's very pleasing on a bucket and it's been chopped 4" off the bottom.

    Project Update: Moving Violation

I searched Ebay and found a lot of Honda radiators in my price range, however I need the core to measure 17 x 17 inches to completely fill the grill shell opening. Otherwise it looks kind of dorky.
