Almost ready to lay up some bucket bodies!
How thick....how many layers are you going to do? If you lay them up a little thicker than the bodies you can buy, you can probably skip reinforcing your bodies with wood.- Clint Curtis

Fiberglass time........ugh
I added to the top lip of my 27 body by putting the body on saw horses UPSIDE DOWN.....making a dam out of poster board and masking tape. Then lay up with fiberglass cloth and resin....using gravity and the dam to hold it in place until it is cured.- Clint Curtis

Wood Model T Express Body Plans?
How about building it out of metal.....like 1"X 3" rectangular thin wall tubing and such for the framing instead of wood. Then use thin sheetmetal plug welded to the framework. Maybe use wood for the curved roof structure.- Clint Curtis

Another thing to think about is, with a stretched body, your kid that Grows up to be taller than you, will fit in it. Or when you go to sell it, the kid that is looking at it , will fit in it.- Clint Curtis

How would a bigger mold be made? Could you take two bodies and split one apart, and add extra pieces from the second body to add to its size in the proper places? Three verticle splits, cowl, door and quarter panel, and one horizontal split all the way around the body.- Clint Curtis

The flipside is that if the longer, taller body idea taking off, and some of the younger guys, that don't now fit in a normal bucket, would fit....and could build. Could the small dimensions be that a roomer vehicle would cost more to build? Henry was trying to build a car for the masses, at a low price point, and every extra inch of metal would have raised the price of the vehicle. Don't understand what you are saying. What was the reason original bodies were made small? Was it that people were generally smaller compared to today? Was it that in a stock T the seating position is as much sitting ON it as IN it. When you lower the seating position when building a bucket...- Clint Curtis

Why doesn't some manufacturer build a stretched body that is longer and proportionally TALLER? +3" cowl +2" door +4" behind door AND +4" taller body.....add to the bottom of the whole body This would help to keep the body's proportions close to looking normal.
