    Island Girl . . .

Life has been seriously getting in the way of recreational endeavors this last year or so. I have to sleuth out some fuel delivery issues on the corvette and get that running again before I can get back to the hot rod.

If we can only get 8 or 10 folks to put up the buy money, I for one, would be willing to kick in $200 (10 buyers) or a max of $250 if only 8 step up.

    Residual valve needed or not?

How true that is! I spent a week one day trying to come up with something for Pukejoe, er Peugeot

    Residual valve needed or not?

If the fluid drains back to the MC because of gravity, creating negative pressure in the bore, the piston has to retract as atmospheric pressure wants to push it in, admittedly an extremely slow process, and impacted by piston to bore friction, but that's the mechanism

    Prayers for Pam

    That's really good news!
  19. Island Girl

    Residual valve needed or not?

In everyday use, they'd never fully retract, fluid drain-back is a slow process based mostly on the friction between the piston and the bore, but if the vehicle is parked up for an extended period as the fluid drained back into the MC, the piston would retract either until the MC was full, or it...

    Residual valve needed or not?

Sort of, but not over a long period of time as the pads wear. With new pads which have nominally .300" thick friction material, while new there's maybe .050" movement of the piston from fully retracted to apply, . . . . . while at 2/3 worn down, the piston would have to travel .450" from a...
