    Covid Project - 80's Project T-Rod

Ni copp is a mechanics beat friend. Ive made thousands of fuel lines, brake lines, and evap lines with it as an automotive technician for the past 10 years up here in the pa/oh/wv tri-state rust

Did you purchase this? Would be nice to see Dahlia finished

    Neddo's Bucket

Im really starting to envy the simplicity of the steering on an inliner! These V8 buckets run out of room fast. I originally was starting my build with a boosted 4 cylinder which would have made life much simpler but I got greedy and wanted more HP.. Definately interested in seeing more of...

    Interesting T-Bucket on Youtube

Its a GMPP kit to retrofit a distributor. Its popular among the circle track crowd

    Neddo's Bucket

I was wondering what that was... Intake and exhaust on the wrong side to be ford. The distributor is in the wrong place to be a chevy. Ive heard of the Chrysler Hemi 6 but never seen one.

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

I am considering a rack. On the fence about it..

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

Im still on rear crossmember and brake stuff but heres something that keeps me coming back and re-thinking it... I dont like the low slung mustang box because it just doesnt fit right. It will require some block clearancing at best.. (iput shaft in the wrong spot, crowds front 4 bar heim...

    My ProjecTee

DonnyRay, Was it you that mentioned using a Chevy Cobalt steering rack? If so, can you provide me some dimensions of it please? Things like: overall width (tie rod to tie rod), mounting hole location and spacing. Im really considering a rack and pinion cause this mustang box ive got just...

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

Thank you for the info George. I really like the idea of the long rod under tension, it eliminates the sideways flex (or rainbowing) of a pushrod type. I will be sure to use this concept. I have to finish wiring up my door bell cameras early this week and then I'm back to T Bucket Time.

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

I really wanted a T56 to row thru the gears but I knew that was out of the question when I started this. I had thought of making a hand clutch (like a motorcycle) on the shifter handle using a vac booster to assist in pulling the clutch but I abandoned that idea very quickly.

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

I know what you mean. I really wanted it on the proper side but there's just no way gas and brake can be there with my shoe size. The car is using a full manual auto.

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

I'll start off by apologizing for my elementary drawings lol. But here's my rear k member/rear master cylinder mount. Why did I mount it so far back? Idk.. this is the way I dreamt it to be and it stuck that way? I've seen other people mount their master cylinder to the transmission crossmember...

    Cheap T Project

I wrenched for 10 years as an Automotive Technician. Foam kneelers are a must! I'm only 30 and my knees can't take the kneeling on hard surfaces for longer than a few minutes. A good foam kneeler allows me to kneel for a good hour or so. I didnt believe it for the longest time but I borrowed...

    The Yeti's 27 T Build

Hope everything works out and the vision problem can be corrected for you. I need to get my eye pressure checked but I keep putting it off. At my appointment for new glasses about 3 months ago he gave me a number to an optometrist to call and to tell him I'm a "glaucoma suspect". I'll get you...

    Cheap T Project

I like to run Rotella Diesel oil although I've been hearing that they are working the zinc out of that too because it's causing DPF/SCR issues.
  18. TheYeti

    Cheap T Project

The Zinc content is a huge contributor to the wear but the biggest thing causing premature camshaft failure lately is an infiltration of poorly manufactured lifters. It has been costing a lot of people a huge headache and $$$. Stay away from any budget lifters. Uncle Tony's Garage on Youtube...

    Cheap T Project

This is what I use for engine assembly lube. It's very tacky and stays on parts very well until your initial start up. All 4 of the big auto parts chains carry it.

    Cheap T Project

Hey DonnyRay, I checked all back throughout your build thread but didn't find you using a steering rack, did I miss something? Would like to see the setup.
