290hp/350 crate engine

Has anyone dealt with or are they using the 290horse 350 crate engine that GM offers? I want to run a polished aluminum oil pan but the block has the provisions for the right and left hand dipstick

I got this crate engine from Jeg's a couple years ago.

Not hte same as the one you're talking about BUT it came with left or right dipstick option.

I have one in my truck, I used the stock LH pan no problems. It came with a plug for the dipstick hole you don't use.

Appreciate the info guys, I talked to GM and they said it should work fine to with the regular pan too. So how does that engine run Bruce, Im curious to fire it up

It runs pretty good for what it is, a truck is a little heavy though. So its not a hot rod. The truck is going to get a lot of other work in the future so I'm going to cam it while its down for a little more grunt.
