A bit more progress

I finally got these seat plugs ready to mold up. I way over did the complexity of the ribs (my OCD), but they'll be more rigid. They'll need to be 2 piece molds because of some funky angles.

Nice work. Now, is the part going to be laid up on the side we see? Trying to visualize the finished product.

Molded on the outside like this.

And laid up on the mold's inside like this.

So, is this just a simple home project, or are you going for the next Riddler award at the L.A. Roadster Show? The amount of work you are putting into this roadster has become mind boggling.

Ha, I don't know. I just have this compulsion to make things the way I want them.

Takes a lot more time and money, but if it ends up different than what I have in my head, I can't stand it.

Could you share with us what you do professionally ? Has to be design or something along those lines.

Come to think of it, I believe that we have another retired GM designer here at this site.

School district maintenance. Everything from HVAC to delivering books.

I have a BA in graphic design and that's where I started out years ago. But hated being cooped up all day.

Things like this are how I vent instead of drawing, painting or sculpting.

This is my canvas.

The molds are done. I'll lay up the final shells next weekend.
