Body strength

Well I got my door hung but the only problem is the body where the door latch is mounted is too flimsy and I think the body will crack. How did you strengthen the latch side to be more solid.

Can you 'glass some wood in place to add rigidity?

we use oak in our doors and around the door jambs.
