Engine cooling

I am also struggling with an overheating problem and am trying a few fixes this week.

A few questions:

I am assuming that other than the possibility of a bad thermostat, removing the thermostat improves the colant flow but isn't there still something wrong in the system?

What is the purpose of the radiator cap pressurizing the system?

Are the aluminum cylinder/finned transmission coolers sufficient cooling if they are installed under the body? What is the best size to use? I have a standard cooler mounted in front of the radiator and want to move it to help air flow.

Coolant under pressure actually raises the boiling point. If in colorado water will boil at lower than 212 degrees. So if coolant is under pressure coolant will be able to get hotter be fore overheating.
