Gary49 building my first hot rod

I started with 2"x3" rectangular tubing and a set of CCR drawings.

Then I started cutting and grinding the brackets from 3/8" and 1/4" plate.

I have a LS1 5.7 and a 4L60E ready to bolt in when it's time. Jerry sent me a photo of my body before he sent it.

I got the panhard bar located and fabricated the radius rods and brackets.

Next will be to order the coil over shocks for the rear-end and then start on the front-end.

The CCR body is already channeled 3". I'm going to get the sport deck from CCR also. I think it really makes a t-bucket look great. There is room inside it for a gas tank and battery. This is fun.

I like it but it would look a lot better if it was mounted lower. I'm going to do my best to fit mine at least 6" lower. That way it won't look like a monkey butt. No offense intended.

I think that Gary meant a short pick up bed. Or maybe a stock turtle deck, mounted in a stock position (which, when mounted in a stock position, is definitely lower).

Yes to the later. The CCR sport deck mounted lower would look great in my opinion, for what that's worth.

I'm sure he's referring to the CCR Sport Deck. If he mounts it lower, like he plans, it'll look really nice.

With a pair of blue dot lights it will have a nice finished look.
