holly red fuel pump

I bought a new Hollyred fuel pump 109.00 and before I got it . A friend of mine from work said he had on that was not use more than 2 month's. I'm thinking I need divarechial cover for my 8.8 ford rearend. Either Alum or Chrome would do. Fuel pump had not so much been taken out of the box.
