Long wheelbase

I'm starting the planning phase of my first bucket build. I'm going to use RPMs big boy body. Drag race 4 link and a the front to get it low. On paper it looks link it's going to be 134" wb. Is that too long?

Well, mine's 103" and I believe Island Girl's '27 is about 116". So to me 134" does sound a bit long, but . . . to each his own. Will most of the added length be between the front axle and the engine/radiator?

Cooter and I both have the same Ron Pope body. Cooter's build is here with lots of pictures. His wheelbase is 118 inches. My wheelbase came out at 122 inches.

CCR (California Custom Roadsters) has a set of plans and if you look up Youngsters' The "Youngster" FREE T-Bucket Frame Plans he (RIP) has one. You can't go wrong using these tried a true plans, just remember if you change one thing it can and probably will affect other things.

I have CCR and youngsters plans. I am wanting to build a low rider. As soon as I get the body and suspension
I already have motor and trans wheels and tires. I'm going to build a wood frame out of 2x4s I will see what it looks like then

Mine is 121" and is a nice match to the CCR stretch body:

...it does increase the turning radius tho.

mine is not quite that long wb 113" The turn radius is a little wide

Very Nice SRM1952 !!!

Thanks -- yes on coil overs , no on frame step . Just mount on homemade bracket . I like the adjustability of the coil overs .

That photo was taken at the 2008 NTBA Nationals in Springfield Illinois. I got to see this car there and have never seen it again...…..Anyone know where it is today......By the way it sounded very good....

I,ve seen a lot come and go since I joined the NTBA and can't find some because they either died or just disappeared.

Look at the photo section on the Main Web Site and tell me how many are still alive or even in the NTBA and where they are.
All are welcome whether they have a Bucket or not but should at least be a Member to have a picture of their car there.
