Pitman arm torque

How much torque should I put on the Pitman arm nut? I'm at 90 ft lbs. When I check it the next day I have to re-torque. I think the arm is not totally compressed on the shafts and over night it moves further on which lessons the torque on the nut. Hope this makes sense. I don't want to snap the shaft.

What box are you using? My Vega box has no pin hole. I guess you could use a half nut for safety. The nut has never been loose since installed, but now I think I will double check it. It does have a lock washer.

Take the nut off , if you can wiggle the arm then it's not seating properly on the splines , there have been some reports of machining variances on the "new" aftermarket /0ff shore boxes , only spec I could find was 80 -105 lbs. ft. , I think 80 - 90 is plenty ...

I have a flaming river box. I will torque it at 90 and keep checking it. Sooner or later it will bottom out on the tapered spline of the shaft. It does have a lock washer but I will put a half nut on just to be safe.
