Here is some pics of the progress on my 23 t bucket.
I installed a roll bar , put new rear end in with disc brakes, painted frame, refiberglassed radiator cover, fiberglassed the joints in between box and body, changed out the dashboard, i still. have to redo interior, bored the 429 cj 30 over and installed a stroker kit making it a 545 cu. In. And painted body, still have a lot to do but it is going great..

I have a c-6 trans with mild shift kit and a 3800 stall and the rear end is a 10 bolt out of a 86 iroc z posi with 3:23 gears with disc brake , thanks for the question

Sound like the right gear for all that power and you know the C-6 will be coasting with that light weight.

2100 lbs is what it weighed in at, a little heavier than most but the 429 is 700 lbs. And i used 1/4 " wall tubing because of the big block

I had a set of 1968 cast iron heads reworked by the local speedshop. I was going to go with aluminum heads but the speedshop said they could do more with the 68 heads as long as i wasnt worried about the extra weight

They wish. They might be able to spend more hours one them unless you were looking at pro crap heads. A good head like the Ford SCJ, Trick flow Street head or P51 head is way beyond stock. That being said the right person can make pretty decent performance from a stock casting. Are are talking a dove/C9ve head or a Dooe SCJ head?

I think if you get a good flowing race head, you shoot yourself in the foot! Dyno shows a two barrel head is better for the street than even four barrel heads. You seldom need a head that flows air at 5,000 rpm up for the street and these cars will scare you with a mild motor!

You have to remember this is not a race car it is a very nice steetable engine build with power to us....a set of aluminum heads are a wast of money for my build. I cannot hook up what i have . Putting aluminum heads on would be like putting nitrous on a waste of money..

Fordsbyjay in response to your post i didnt say that my cast heads were the best heads around i just said the speedshop said i had excellent heads for my build and aluminum was a waste of money for my build and he has been in business for more than 20 yrs. And i beleive him.
