George in KC I was told you made this link...…..My question is, is this the way the links are supposed to be mounted? Looks like to me it will work......Thanks for the response.66831210_10218465001472729_5664548284119646208_n.jpg

Let me see if I can get a better 0hoto today.....

See if these help...….

Those photos helped me see it.
It looks to me like it would function, provided the 'pin' on the right bell-crank is positioned in the middle of the slotted part of the left one, when the car is loaded at ride height.

Someone posted something similar using a pair of gears (on a front axle) some time back, if I remember correctly.

Maybe you remember this:

Lincoln T... As for contacting George Barnes. I use to either see him or email/telephone him while working in Kansas City, Kansas. He would stop in the last shop I worked in down in Gardner KS as his daughter lived nearby. I have tried to call him several times but never got a call back from voice mails I left. I can tell you that he had quit working in his shop while I was still in Kansas about 3 1/2 years ago. I will also tell he sold all of his machinery etc. Nicest man out there and I hope he is just retired and enjoying his grand kids.

Now, about that centering linkage you have posted. It is called a Mumford Linkage. You can google it as there is plenty of links and information. I use a suspension design program from these guys if anyone is interested.

>Mumford Linkage

A watts linkage is just a bell crank with one end attached to the frame and the other to the far side rear end housing. The bell crank pivot point attaches to the rear end housing center line. You can also mount the bell crank flat in the horizontal plane on top or below the housing using high articulation spherical bearings. It is all about packaging clearances. In my opinion I think the Watts Linkage is much better then a panard bar for a number of reasons. Hope this will give you some insight and thoughts on the subject. Good luck with your project.
