Stainless Heim finish

Has anyone sprayed clear-coat over polished stainless heims, in place of buying new chrome ones or powder coating?

There's really no need to clear coat polished SS. You don't want to get anything on the ball of the hiem. It will cause prematurefialure of the ball race in the body.

If it is stainless and polished it will last for years without any attention. And if you wipe at it sometime it will last longer.

I've got some polished stainless parts on the front of my 27 that are 20 years old, and a little wipe down with some product like Mothers and they look like new. That's the beauty of stainless.
