Steering box to frame question

Hey all, I have an RPM kit and a vega box and today I'm working on the steering box. Should I cut spacers to fill this gap or just tightening it down to the bracket ok?there will remain an air gap as the steering box has a hump in it.

Thanks

If you don't put spacers in there you risk breaking the ears off the steering box. You most certainly need spacers !

Thanks guys, I felt that way as well but wanted to be sure.
I didn't call Ron because I didn't want to bother him on a Saturday

By all means put spacers under the box. My attach plate is different but works the same as a regular Vega unit. I made my spacers out of a couple of, piece's of round stock. and I put a tack weld on the spacer to plate, so they stayed in place when you're installing and removing the steering box. Like someone else mentioned you can use washer stacks for spacers. Good luck.
