Steering box

Well, I just received my corvair steering box. I thought there would be splined shafts at both ends. It is splined for the pitman arm, but is just a round shaft that will connect to column. It sits very close to firewall and round shaft will go into firewall. Also, very close to the outside edge of firewall. I know there has to be a way to do this and still have the steering column not going at an angle to couple to this box. Enlighten me, PLEASE!
