Windshield Frame

Sounds like 7/8" brass bar is the answer.

Terry... If you can find the right diameter brass rod at a price you can live with then that would be my choice. Plating aluminum is always a crap shoot depending on the shop you use. Cut to length plus an inch then a simple milling operation. Do it in either a vertical or a horizontal mill and you're there. Good luck with your project.

One of the reasons I went for powder coat was the never ending task of keeping brass shiny. Its a road to no where. As said above plating alloy is hit and miss at best. BTDT.

Brass powder coat on my frame and brackets. NO one, to date has figured it out as a coating.... but its your choice.

Looked at brass plating and the cost was too high. Also if you polish it, it wears through... the original frame in the pictures was brass plated but keeping it shiny I wore through the plate to the base metal. That ain't going to happen with the powder coat. The picture doesn't do it justice. Have a look at some in real life, you will be surprised.
