Windshield

Hey guys, got a question here. If I was to make my own windshield frame what size aluminum stock woul I use and how would I cut the channel in the stock for the glass? I am looking to go 14" tall. Any opinions?

I used 7/8 alum barstock and set it up on a customers mill and cut the bottom and both sides. I made the slot 5/16 wide and 5/16 deep. Then i made a jig and ubolted the pieces on a piece of MDF . Then i had a friend of mine heliarc it. I will look and see if i have a pic or 2
