350 turboflite transmission front pump seal

Iam in the process of putting my engine back together after the rebuild. Should I replace the front seal that goes around shaft that the bellhousing slides onto. The seal that is on the shaft is not dry rotted. Any comments or suggestions?

I assume you mean a GM TH 350, and not a Chrysler Torqueflite. Yes, I'd replace that seal even if the old one looks good. Easy to do now before you put it together.
Remember to rotate the shaft as you slide it together to be sure it goes all the way in. Don't ask me how I know!:whistling:

Always replace a seal when given a chance. Be sure to lubricate the seal and the shaft
it seals on before you install the trans to engine.

Also does the torque converter have a couple of quarts of trans fluid that you will be using.

If it were completely empty, it holds somewhere around 12 quarts depending on the converter and cooler size. That’s only if you completely disassembled the transmission though. Just doing a filter change takes about 4-5 quarts.
