350HO Chevy help on oil pick up

Anyone know what the MINIMUM distance that I can run from the oil pick up to the bottom of the sump on a 350HO Chevy motor.
I am really pushed for ground clearence so the very minimum would be helpful

Thanks for the quick reply. You have made my day. 1/4'' is smaller than I thought so my sump will now be cut to accommodate that.

You can also modify the pick up to allow oil to enter from the sides and front for that extra 6mm and 13.7796 thousands.

Thats even better. 13.7796 thousands will make all the difference. Now how big is that exactly!!!. I make it about a thumbnail plus the thickness of a sheet of paper. But I do work in metric. LOL
