B&M Brackets

I am going to use one of B&M's ratchet shifters on a turbo 350. Can anyone tell me what brackets I need to get for this tranny? Does B&M have a kit that has everything I would need? If anyones knows, could ya give me a heads up for the part #?

Thanks

The B&M ratchet shifters that I have used mounted to the floor of the body, not to the trans. They had a cable instead of linkage so you could mount the box almost anywhere. If you go to the B&M website, click on the shifter that you want, and scroll down the description you will find a link to a page that has installation instructions.

I would call B & M before I bought anything at all. I needed some parts for a shifter a long time ago and called and they sent them out at NO CHARGE. Be worth the phone call. Here is their phone # 1-818-882-6422

I got a B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter on mine. It will come with all the brackets and parts you need for a TH350 or TH400 trans along with the cable. I bought the more heavier duty cable from Summit later in a shorter length and it will make a tighter bend also.

If you have the shifter and just need the mounting arm for the trans I'm sure you can look on Ebay and find all the B&M parts you might need cheap.

I had a B&M ratchet shifter in the T I bought. The shifter was real stiff to shift and I think had the wrong pivot pin. The lock was missing a spring and the set screw of the lock handle. I called B&M to get the parts I needed. They told me they did not sell parts for the shifter, except for the handle and the shift light indicator. He advised me, I could send the shifter to them and they would rebuild it. I tried to tackfully dance around this chisled in stone rule to get the parts, no luck. I did not like the shifter anyway, LOKAR.

blownt,

That's the one I'm going to get. Had it in a Camaro and really liked it. So it has all the brackets for mounting the cable and shifter arm? Because my rebuilt tranny has nothing on it.

I guess that's the question I should have asked in the first place.

Thanks for everybody's input

If you had it in a Camaro then you should already have the brackets. The only thing you need is the bracket that bolts to the trans pan that holds the end of the cable. The other end of the cable hooks to the shifter base and the shifter base screws or bolts to the floor and a plastic cover fits over that.

I like the ratchet shifter. No way you can miss a shift or go into neutral or worse reverse. Only go one gear at a time. Then you just pull up on the stick to get to reverse or park. I have a full manual reverse pattern valvebody so the one gear at a time is nice.
