bad mounting of rearend

Well it is a chevy so it can't be too much power. :hooray: He must have welded it up with a welder from Harbor Freight or something because it looks like the brackets came off the rearend still attached to the ladder bars. LOL
 
Most rear housings are O 2 thin for heavy HP and quick starts, that is a place where a complete rap of the housing with heavier material, welded with stitch welds helps with thin housings, then welding the Radius "lift type" bars to that heaver material, plus with everything solid, so to speak, no bushings to absorb some of the twisting and shocks that happen with every take off or street driving, helps to weaken the material at and around the weld, usually the weld itself is the strongest part... That's drag racing for you, street guys pay attention, it can happen to you also... I have fixed just that problem (on customer's of other builder's cars) many times over the years... I really try not to weld anything to my Banjo rear-end. Made the shock mounts etc. to bolt on to the outermost ends of the rear. Hard to avoid though, I know.
