Be different

This car is a late '50's build as I understand it, featuring a Studebaker V-8 which is a little different. My research tells me that the Studebaker V-8s of the period were stout performers and produced a healthy amount of torque - perfect in a light car like a T-bucket. What do you think?

Looks like it must a Siamesed exhaust port. Definitely different!

In 1955 Chevrolet introduced the small block 265 cu. in. V-8 which was a game changer. One of its features was heads that gave each exhaust port its own header tube - no more siameseing! Others followed suit.

Note the cannister type oil filter in the above pic. Chevrolet did not adopt spin-on filters until 1968!

The upper and lower cannister filters made for messy oil changes. I must have done a million back in my early years as a gas station mechanic.!
