In the '80's, my business was forced to go into computers and I have to admit, I hated it. I could write an estimate in a tenth of the time that it took to do something in the computer. I had seven employees working for me then. The insurance companies made the shops go into a Glenn Mitchell system, or you couldn't do work from them, via their own software. By 2004, I had 15 employees and was a direct repair facility for all the major insurance companies. I had 8 employees in the back and now because of computers, 7 employees in the front making me no money and the burden put on the 8 employees in the back and had nothing but frustration and 8 computers throughout the shop. With Windows programming, the introduction of new programs and so-called systems applications from frame machines to paint mixing systems that were complicated and hard to use. In 1998, I bought my first IMAC. It was my own personal computer. In the forum WOES lately, I went out to storage and pulled it out, hooked it up to the ancient dial-up system and logged onto T bucket forum with my 12 year-old IMAC with no problems.
