The program is Draftsite and is a free download. I think verion 2012 is up now but you can check. I use it all the time and it is pretty much a clone of auto cad. Here you go.Someone ( I thought GAB ) recomended a downloadable CAD Program. Now I can't find the thred.

Is that Draftsite program a 2D or 3D CAD program?
Dang Fluid George...you are making me blush.
Yes, I use Inventor. It's an ancient version now and there are tons of capabilities of the program that I don't use or even know how. I had 5 years of drafting in high school and a year in college and I had quite a bit of time learning to use the 2D program (Drafix) that I started with. It just does things differently than with a pencil and paper and takes some getting used to.
If you are going to jump into 3D, see if you can find someone that will let you look over their shoulder while they are drawing. That method helped me greatly. The learning curve is pretty steep for an old guy. But it can be a lot of fun and a valuable tool.
