chrome headers / coated

I dont know why not it may cost a bit more to remove the chrome by blasting. I had a set of shorties quoted and he told me 75 per side. Kita why dont you look into the eastwood coatings and try it then let us know how it works. I have seen several posts wondering how well the high heat do it your self stuff works.
 
Isn't what Eastwood offers a powder coating. If so, I doubt that it will work for headers. They require a product that will withstand more heat than regular powder coating.

I don't know what the headers look like, my dad just called said he found a set of chrome ones for $100, he said they are rough I'll look at them tomorrow
 
Rooster, I have not had an Eastwood catalog lately. I did not know of that product, thanks for the heads up.

i think you would be better off buying a set of raw plain headers for setup and initial startup, then take them off and have them ceramic coated after you got the engine tuned ..

i think the chrome would interfere with just about any coating you put on it.. unless you got the chrome completely off and didnt blow through the header with a sandblaster.
 
After I burnt my ceramics on start up I tracked down a local company that ceramic coats. The price was about the same as I paid from speedway for these but they would be coated inside and out. There was no extra charge to prep the old ones. Lesson learned use old headers or manifolds on start up and check if they coated both sides The speedway ones were not

Some really good friends of mine own a ceramic coating shop. The chrome won't come off by sand blasting it. It has to be taken off by a chrome plating shop. The ceramic does not stick well to the chrome. They won't warranty that.
