Oh man... the memories. I grew up in a small town in SW Oregon, but we had very active cruise and drag race (street) activity every weekend during the warmer months. There were a couple places near town that we used as our drag strips, one of them being the 5 or 6 year old interstate 5. the two exits at either side of town made it handy, and a mile long straight streach between the two was usefull. once in a wile we'd have to let a car go by, but for the most part you could just line up and go right in the middle of the freeway back then. I was never arrested, and very few others were hassled. I was "sent home" by the police a couple times because of beer in the car and being unable to walk or talk coherently, but other than that..........

you're only invinceable once,
Russ

just think these are guys are someones granddads now with baby blue pants up to there chest and a button up sweater. I love my granddad. He was killin Nazis in WWII at 18 came home built hot rods then took a job as a mechanic for the city until he retired in 1982. But the old pictures I saw of him he was just the same as those boys. I wish I knew him then.
