Sorry, Dude, but thats just silly.

That laughing at the beginning of the video was not me. I laughed from right here. Ditto on Gerry's comment.

1600hp, show me a dyno printout. Boost is boost, depending on how the engine is built, will only take so much. Overheard on the audio that he isn't even running a forged crank. He is running an intercooler, I bet two diesel truck blowers can sure heat up the intake charge. IMHO, just eye candy.

Bob

Let's see.....1600 HP and 960 ft-Lbs. That would be at about 8750 RPM. Now that takes a really special built engine to do that. Don't think a cast crank would last long. I'm guessing it's never been tested at those power levels. Don't know if gasoline has enough heat content to make those numbers. Seems like nitro-methane fuel would be necessary. Yep, eye-candy and reactions from the guys looking at it. Hey....that's what a lot of hod-rodding is all about isn't it? The reaction of people gazing wide-eyed at our creations. Just as I do with stuff I see here but would never want to do myself. Creation, art, innovation. All part of the hobby.

Thats a Good point.

Still think its silly though!

Your both right, I didn't mean to down play people's desire for visual enhancements because I learned a lot at Fred's Fun Run this year. People that I enjoyed socializing (read drinking) with admitted their desire to make a strong visual statement with the uncovered engines in their Ts. Now, when I'm at a T event, looking at the forced induction rides, when I see the small positive displacement blowers sized for our engines, with valveing that allows only 1/3 hp in parasitic drag when not running boost, I can assume these owners are more into "Go" than "Show".

Bob

He could not stick it anyway... I would put the nitrous below all the blowers to keep it all in and not be in the blower cases, like you say, a really big go BOOM! hehe :)
Hey! with cops giving tickets for fuzzy dice hanging from you mirror because it obstructs your view, what would they think about this?? hehe

Well guys,we have a T Bucket down here with the same sort of set up and I have looked but can't find any photos of it sorry. Each to their own I suppose but not my cup of tea and the only thing that I like was the colour of the car, heck that must be my feminine side coming out.

Whats is typical weather up there in March? I might be heading to Corvallis sometime in that month?

Bob

Seldom roadster weather, but then again, if you don't like the weather just wait five minutes. tipically 50s and wet.

Now where did you find that photo Russ and yes that's the one. :jawdrop: The guy that owns it is nicknamed "Piercer" as he has so many body piercings,it is a miracle he retains fluid. Once one gets passed his appearance,he is one really neat guy. The other thing of interest on his bucket is that it is covered with skulls right down to small little ones that glow blue at night.I can't remember the actual number of skulls but there is alot. Piercer is a member of the "The Bucket Cruisers of NZ" which I am a member of too. That bucket gets used and driven all over New Zealand. Oh another thing is the upholstery is covered by black shaggy wool sheep skin and if it is raining, car and driver are still out there doing it.

Yes Putz thats Pierce's bucket and man that thing really screams loudly. I have a photo of it in a line up of several buckets including mine when we all met at 7.00am to cruise together to a national rod show and man we had heavy fog, rain and then sun shine and I was the only one that had a roof on. The photo I took was with all the cars angle parked to the curb in a row with the fog down so it looks very spooky.Sadly I seem to of misplaced it somewhere.
