You're right! With very little work those cars can be customized, and they look so cool with the smooth lines and compound curves that today's cars just don't have.

We’ve lost all sense of style in today’s auto designs. The mandated safety specs play a big role... sort of like nascar, gotta fit the mold.
 
So much for thinking that the 1964 Mustang was the first fastback!
 
The first car I ever worked on was my oldest brother's '49 Chevy slopeback. Took out the radiator and waterproof. Had a Blue Flame 6 with 2- 2bbl carbs, 3 on the tree.
