Frame notches cut in body

I just cut the frame notches in the body. First time cutting fiberglass, used a jigsaw and the cuts came out ok, but I'd like to nicely even out the cuts. What can I use to shave down a few high spots and avoid splintering the fibers?

AllWorld1,
A sanding block with 80 grit will probably get what you need, just be sure to run the block from the outside of the body inward and at a slight anglr to the surface. Don't pull back to you as you could start chipping the gel-coat. Also a paint stick with stickyback paper works well. Drop down to 180 grit when you get the shape that your happy with and then you can prime. A polyester 2 part primer works best on raw fiberglass. Featherfill is one but, several companys make it...good luck...Ron (ruggs)

PS...make sure there is no gloss to the gelcoat where you prime.

Thank you Ron. Working with 'glass is new to me and this build will be a cool learning experience.

when I cut the notches for the radius rods on my painted body I used masking tape first and tape the area. Use a fine metal cutting jigsaw blade. Use some fine sandpaper LIGHTLY.

If I use a file to smooth it up I only file inward on the edge. Do not pull back on the outside edge. Tilt the file and pull back on the inside edge
