It's not a scam. MIT started a program about six years ago to start offering a lot of their boiler plate undergraduate coursework online for free. It became so popular that it morphed into what they now call MITOCW, or the MIT Open Course Ware program.

And...... in the true spirit of OpenSource, it's all free! Costs you absolutely nothing! If you don't see what you're looking for, they might put it up at a later date. You can't get an MIT degree from taking all the free classes, but you do take the very same ones the MIT students do. Not all of them, but a lot! And they are constantly add ing new material to the site.
