That's funny although when I raced road race we did race in the rain but not on the ovals.

You would not think it was funny if you had ever been caught in the rain on slicks. Not a nice feeling. Ever been caught with "pro street" tires? they have SOME tread.

Shame stock car racers can't have just one set of stock tires in there trailer. We had a sprinkle last weekend at Pocono and I thought for sure it would be over. I would rather they slowed down a little than just say Bucket and stop the race.

F1 and most real race cars have rain tires for when it gets wet.
They also can turn left AND right. 4G turns at 130mph in the wet....

Yes and they also don't weigh 3500 pounds and have tires that are at least twice as wide as a stock car.

F one cars tires have more rubber on the ground with one tire, than a stocker has with all four...plus much less weight, and only 1/2" suspension travel, so the tires sit flat on the track most of the time, when not flying.. hehe
