Grundy/Haggerty...quick question--DECLINED???

Blown Bucket

New Member
Hi everyone...just a quick question...I figured I'd ask you guys first before stick my foot in my mouth talking to insurance companies!

Has anyone ever been DECLINED insurance of their bucket??? Reason I ask is I'm a little nervious to send them photo's of mine due to the 8-71 blower and scoop that sits above the top of the windshield!

Yes it obstructs my view a bit..but have been use to driving other vehicles with even worse range of sight.

Thanks!

Ted

Stay away from their website and find a local agent . Their on line quotes are 25% higher. Thats what i did for Grundys. They wanted the Vin, HP, and my vin on my dailey driver to make sure i would not be using my car for dailey transportation. I pay 303.00 per year 25K agreeded value.

I have a 6-71 with 2 carbs sticking above the windsheild. No problem with Hagerty.

You will be declined for wheelie bars, roll bar, chute and nos. These things are for racing only. They ask about all that in their questionair when you apply.

I think mine runs about $275.00 a year.

I have Hagerty's too, and no problem in getting it insured with them, didn't say anything about my wheelie bars, were in the pictures I sent them, but NOS is an automatic decline, great people to work with, made getting it covered to go pick up and bring home very easy, did a binder with limited info till I got it home and could give answers to all required information needed for permanent policy, was very simple to do that though. My wife owns an insurance agency and is now an authorized agent for Haggerty, and can probably answer any questions about what will and will not work, but can only write in NC, it doesn't show where you're from on your posting, might be able to write other states, not sure, haven't tried that yet, Was told to stay away from Grundy's, won't write an assembled vehicle. Good luck, and if wife can help send me a message and I will give you her contact info, Eddie

grundy told me my assembled car was ok but were $200.00 more than hagerty.AND you cant drive the car when you want it has to be a car show or some other verifiable function.

Ron,

They don't have a problem with your tires? I checked into Haggerty or Grundy about 10 years ago and they said DOT approved tires so I never bothered with them. I have always just had liability only on my bucket with my daily drivers vehicle policy (Geico).

With Grundy, I can drive as many miles as I want. I just can't use it for errands of to go to work, and has to be garaged.

I have Hagertys for about $300 a year. There were no questions about HP, tires, blower etc.

Thats the problem i have with them you cant even go down to the store and grab some pop thats an errand.Hagerty says i can take it to work all i want i just cant do it all the time. Also i can drive it to other states with out penalty.I also have to be garaged. You dont have to be going to a show you can just go for a long cruise also.Grundy says to and from a car show.

What is the agreed value on your "T" ??? They quoted me $425 for $25k.

I have my policy right here and grundys doesnt have any of the restrictions you mentioned. I Have No milage restriction. I CAN drive it to work just not in the place of my daily driver. I would not have purchased a policy the would limit my driving. I cant speak about Haggertys because i dont have their coverage. I only know their coverage was 25% higher in oklahoma for some reason.
