Having some real T bucket fun

Got my bucket down to 10.2@132 with open headers.

Thats with the old (mild) blown 454 that made 627 hp. Car weighs about 2500kgs and hooks up pretty well. That engine was very tame & incredibly nice for cruising - except for the hassles keeping it cool enough.

Have since upsized to a blown 540 and the new motor is animal. I would think its a genuine 200hp more than the old setup so Im expecting to drive to the track, run a 9 in street trim and drive home again.

Car now feels twitchy under extreme acceleration, which it never did with the old engineMeremere Dec 04.jpg

That was great, what did it run?
Ron so far the best that I have ran and this is a 1/8 mile track was a 7.23 at 98.245 MPH all in complete street trim on pump gas.If the weather stays cooler I may have a update this Friday night.Going to make a small change GOOD GAS try some 110

MY set up is also very mild The surprizing thing is that it goes down the track straight as an arrow. On the street it lounches more vilent. I would like to see what it would do in the 1/4 But I am affraid the officials would stop me at tec with out the role bar BIG issue for good reasion.

A 7.23 over the eighth, would equate to a mid 11 on the quarter and thats way too fast without a roll cage. Actually you could pick up a couple of tenths over the quarter because blower motors fair haul ass over the last 200 feet. Im around 6.50 on the eigthth and 10.20 in the quarter with the old engine.

The common equation is to take the eighth mile time and multiply by 1.6 to get the likely quarter mile
